School of Hospitality Administration

The School of Hospitality Administration is a full-time, four-year bachelor degree program. Grounded in the liberal arts, students first fulfill our core curriculum and then take specialized hospitality courses, preparing them for work in this international industry. With the breadth of our curriculum and the way we integrate work experiences into our academic requirements, students here learn the business of managing hotels, food service, travel and tourism, entertainment, and people. This degree program requires students to participate in an international experience as well as 800 hours of field internships.

Features:

  • In the London Internship Program, students live and work in London, where they take classes with British professors in the social sciences and humanities.
  • The Paris Internship Program involves intensive French language instruction, classes in European-style hospitality, and work in a Parisian hotel, restaurant, or tourism agency.
  • International internships are also available in Madrid and Sydney through the University's International Programs Office.
  • Collaborative Degree Program (BUCOP) offers students the opportunity to receive undergraduate degrees concurrently from two Schools or Colleges within Boston University.
  • Student activities abound for those interested in socializing and sharing interests in hospitality including the Diner's Club, the International Students' Hospitality Association (ISHA), the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH), and Student Government.
  • The Hospitality Administration House provides specialty housing for students sharing a commitment to service within the hospitality industry.
