Music Curriculum Library

The CFA Music Curriculum Library is located in the CFA Building (in room 243). While the Mugar Library holdings focus primarily on study and research, the holdings in CFA are largely composed of performance materials.  To search for music publications, click CFA Music Library Database.

The sheet music is categorized as follows: orchestral, band, choral, keyboard, vocal, operatic and chamber (string, woodwind, and brass). The library also houses music education materials.

Once seating assignments are posted for performances/ensembles, the students may obtain their individual parts in the library.

Archival recordings of CFA School of Music productions including performances by the orchestras, wind ensemble, choruses, faculty recitals and Opera Institute are available for listening. Information can be found at the Recording Studio's website. Five listening stations are available to the public (2 cd units, 1 cassette and 2 turntables). DVD/VHS playback is also available.

Five computers, equipped with internet and printing abilities, are available for use by BU Faculty and Students.

An increasing number of faculty members are placing their class materials on reserve at this location. Also on reserve are basic music reference materials (the Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, music dictionaries, vocal translation books, foreign language dictionaries).

Circulation is permitted to anyone with a current Boston University "ID".
