Mission

The Health Policy Research Program (HPRP) engages in research and evaluation activities intended to illuminate our understanding of health policy issues, and to develop and analyze strategic policy options for improving health care in the United States.  Situated within the University’s Health Policy Institute (HPI), the Health Policy Research Program is directed by Alan B. Cohen, Sc.D., and pursues sponsored research in the following areas of interest:

• Development of human capital in health care and health policy 
• Evaluation of strategies for improving health care quality, access, and affordability
• Policies regarding the evaluation, adoption and regulation of medical technology
• National health policy and health system reform
• Cross-National comparisons of health care systems
