Introduction

Professional Development Programs
As part of Boston University's Work, Health, and Life Series, the Professional Development component offers an array of workshops that will both improve current skills as well as give employees the opportunity to gain new ones. Programs include: Interviewing Techniques, Customer Service, Effective Interpersonal Communication Styles, and Business Writing. Suggestions for future workshops are welcome.

Procedural Workshops
Whether you are new to the University or new to your current position, this series of workshops may be just what you need. Offered twice a year, these seminars provide knowledge of University procedures to new employees and keep experienced employees up-to-date. Programs include: Student Payroll, Introduction to Award Grant Management, Training and Supervising Work-Study and Student Employees, Purchasing Services, Personnel/Payroll Procedures, Travel, and Accounts Payable. They tend to fill up quickly, so don't delay--sign up for a workshop today!

Health Promotion
The Health Promotion component of Boston University's Work, Health, and Life series offers lunch-time sessions for employees to learn about current health issues. Sessions include topics such as Nutrition in the 21st Century, Breast Cancer, Osteoporosis, and Functional Strength Training.

Life Enhancement
Another section of Boston University's Work, Health, and Life Series offers programs related to many of the issues with which people find themselves coping in their personal lives. Programs include Finding Time for Work and Personal Life, Caring for the Elderly, and Anger Management. Suggestions for future programs are welcome.
