Additional Resources

Alumni in the Boston area:

Alumni are welcome to come to the Frederick S. Pardee Library to use library resources.
To borrow books:
Apply for an alumni card for the customary 4 week loan period.   To apply for a card, please fill out the form at:
http://www.bu.edu/alumni/services/card/index.html

Access to business/management databases:

Licensing agreements and inter-university consortial regulations do not permit alumni to access subscription electronic resources from off-campus locations.

You may use the business databases, onsite, in Pardee Library. Please note: a few databases are restricted to BU affiliates with a current BU email address.

The Boston Public Library provides onsite and remote access to business/management databases.  For access, apply for an ecard (available only to Massachusetts residents).

If you have a traditional library card from any public library in Massachusetts, you may also access databases from the Boston Public Library.

Alumni in the New York City area:

Business databases are available through remote access through the New York Public Library.  The use of these databases requires a Branch Libraries’ Card or an ACCESS CardAdditional services for ACCESS card holders are also available. The Science Industry and Business Library of the New York Public Library offers information services, on-site access to business databases, and a variety of other services, including and NYPL Express, a fee-based document delivery service.

Alumni in other U.S. States:

Most public libraries offer access to business databases, both onsite and through remote access. In most cases, the only requirement for access is a library card.  Libraries on the Web: USA Public Libraries provides a list of public libraries in the U.S.

Academic libraries that offer business/management programs often allow visitors to access databases, onsite, through library computers. The membership list of the Academic Business Library Directors (ABLD) organization provides a select list of U.S. academic business libraries. A longer list of business schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) is available on the AACSB web site.  Another source for locating academic libraries in the U.S. is Libraries on the Web: USA Academic Libraries.

Alumni outside of the United States:

Lists of business school libraries are available through two organizations of academic business library directors:
European Business School Librarians' Group
Asia Pacific Business School Librarians' Group
Many of the libraries in these institutions allow visitors to use their resources on site. Business schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business also have libraries that permit visitors to use their resources on site.
