More than 500 of our student-athletes compete for Boston University at the highest level of college athletics on 23 NCAA Division I varsity sports (13 for women and 10 for men). Everyday, we strive to fulfill the mission statement of the Department of Athletics: "Excellence in Athletics, Academics and Community".

The Terriers are members of the America East Conference, Hockey East Association, the Colonial Athletic Association and the Eastern College Athletic Conference.

In 2007-08, BU won six conference championships and had two student-athletes named All-Americans. Two teams – field hockey and women's lacrosse – advanced to the quarterfinals of their respective NCAA tournaments. A total of seven Terrier teams plus four individuals in three sports qualified for NCAA postseason competition. BU captured its third consecutive America East Commissioner's Cup, winning the honor bestowed on the conference's best all-around athletic department for the sixth time in the last seven years.

The official website for the BU Department of Athletics is GoTerriers.com.
