Non Tenure-Track Faculty Position, AThletic Training

Nominations and applications are invited for a faculty position in the CAATE-accredited Athletic Training Program in the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training at Boston University.  We are seeking a clinical faculty member (non-tenure track) to contribute to our entry level athletic training program.

The Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training, part of the College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College, offers degrees in athletic training, physical therapy (DPT), and movement sciences (ScD).  Additionally, we offer an exciting accelerated athletic training/doctor of physical therapy (AT/DPT) program and are developing a post-professional graduate program in athletic training.  BU Sargent College also sponsors professional programs in occupational therapy, health sciences, nutrition and communication disorders.

Our well established athletic training education curriculum provides students with a foundation in the sciences in addition to a comprehensive clinical experience.  Over 15 affiliated sites in the Boston area are used to provide multiple clinical education opportunities. 

This will be a full-time 9-month position at the Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor level.  Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications.  Start date: negotiable.
 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach within the departmental programs as negotiated with the program director and chair
  • Participate in scholarly activities.
  • Academic mentoring of undergraduate students
  • Participate in the development of our Sports Medicine Institute.

Required Skills
Qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree.  Earned doctorate preferred.
  • Experience in college teaching
  • Familiarity and experience with entry-level and post-professional athletic training education programs preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of three years experience as a BOC certified athletic trainer
  • Must be eligible for MA licensure
  • Professional vision consistent with emerging health care patterns and changes in athletic training education.
