Tenure-Track Faculty Position, Physical Therapy and Athletic Training

Nominations and applications are invited for a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training at Boston University. We are seeking to expand our research programs and research faculty.  We invite applicants who have developed a strong research program that is supported, or has strong potential for support by external funding sources.  We are especially interested in candidates who have a clear vision of their research direction, who can relate the relevance of their research to physical therapy and/or athletic training, and who are interested in helping develop the PT & AT programs' professional and research doctoral programs.

The Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training is located within the College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College. The Department offers the following degrees:  Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT, tDPT) degree, BS degree in Athletic Training (AT), an accelerated, combined AT/DPT, and ScD in Rehabilitation Sciences.. The Department houses several research laboratories that specialize in movement science and in health promotion. Qualifications:

  • Earned doctoral degree (PhD, ScD, EdD or equivalent)
  • Professional degree and licensure in PT
  • Current history of, or potential to develop, externally-funded research program
  • Peer reviewed publications
  • College teaching experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an externally-funded research program
  • Publish in peer-reviewed journals
  • Mentor graduate students in the Rehabilitation Sciences ScD program
  • Teach in ScD, DPT, and or AT programs in areas of expertise
  • Participate in Departmental, College and University committees

Salary, tenure status, and rank commensurate with qualifications and level of experience.  Start date is negotiable.
