International Students

University funded merit based financial aid is available to international students. This will be awarded by the admissions committee of the program you are applying to, based upon your graduate application information. Notification of this award would be received in your letter of acceptance to the program.

International students must submit evidence of financial support for their educational and living expenses while at Boston University. International Students are not eligible for university funded need based scholarship.

International students are eligible for assistantships. There are three separate types of assistantships that are awarded directly from the department to the student. The award amount varies with the number of hours employed and the type of service performed. If you are interested in applying for the Teaching and Research Assistantships/Fellowships, Traineeships, or Graduate Assistantships, you need to send a letter to your program chairperson detailing your areas of interest and expertise.
