How to Burn a CD (Windows).

            If you have Windows XP:

1.      Close the file you want to burn onto a CD

2.      Go to My Computer and navigate to the file that you want to burn on the CD.

3.      Right click on the file and choose Send To

4.      Choose your CD drive from the list

5.      A balloon will pop up saying you have files ready to be written to the CD.  This means that your file is in a holding area waiting to be burned to the CD.

6.      If you have other files you want to add to the CD, you should go find them now and repeat Steps 3 & 4

7.      Once you are done and ready to burn the CD, just go to My Computer and double click on your CD drive. (If you have two, make sure you have the right one.)

8.      You will see your files displayed there. On the upper left column, you will see “Write these files to the CD  Click on that.

9.      Done.

If you do not have Windows XP

1.                          If you’re not sure, check to see if you have a CD burner. Look at the drive. If it says “Rewritable  on the front, or “CD-RW” then you have a burner.  If it just says “CD” or “CD-Rom”, you do not.

2.                          If you do have a burner, you will probably have some CD burning software on your computer. The most common is Roxio.

3.                          Go to Start->Programs->Roxio Easy CD Creator 5-Project Selector

4.                          Choose Make a Data CD, then Data CD Project

5.                          A window will open like this:

6.                          Find the file(s) you want to burn in the upper left corner (1), drag it (them) down to the lower right hand box (2) and then press record (3).

7.                          Press start recording. If you have any problems, check to make sure that you have a blank disk in the drive and that you have the right drive selected in this box:
