Boston --- Sandy Simon, a stroke survivor and author of A Stroke of Genius: Messages of Hope and Healing From a Thriving Stroke Survivor, will share his inspirational story at Boston University’s Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 19 at 635 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, MA, Room 101. The public is invited. For more information or to RSVP please call 617/353-2713.
In A Stroke of Genius, Simon details his “therapeutic odyssey” through the eyes of a neurological patient. He credits his physical, occupational and speech therapists, as well as doctors and nurses, for helping him achieve his current quality of life, even after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage that prompted experts to declare him 100% disabled. With candid and humorous narrative, Simon aims to help stroke survivors, families, caregivers and therapists to “see a brighter future” and “enjoy a new life.” Now able to enjoy golfing, writing and painting, he speaks to medical professionals about the importance of life long therapy and the physical and emotional healing it continually brings to a patient.
Simon, a native and resident of Delray Beach, Florida, received his B.S. from Georgia Tech and his M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
