If you want to read a great book about Paul Farmer, read Tracey Kidder's Mountains Beyond Mountains. Farmer is one of my heroes. I was fortunate to read some of his work as an Anthropology undergrad. His book Infections and Inequalities is amazing. I am now working on my Masters in Public Health at BU. Farmer is a living example of how Anthropology, Medicine and Public Health can all work together to really make change. I think honoring Farmer on Martin Luther King Jr. day is so fitting.
