Copy and Paste

SoundForge handles audio files in the same way that a word processing application handles documents. You can cut, copy, paste, and modify the wave, or content of the audio file.

Copy

In the data window, click and drag the mouse over part of the wave. The selected area will display as black with the wave in blue.

Copy a selected area of the wave by choosing Edit | Copy from the toolbar. The data is copied to the clipboard.

Paste

To paste the copied data into the wave at a different point, click the mouse at the location you want to paste the data, and select Edit | Paste from the toolbar menu.

To paste the copied data into a new file, select File | New to open a new data window. Then select Edit | Paste to complete the copy. As a shortcut, you can also select Edit | Paste Special | Paste To New to open a new window and copy the data at the same time rather than in two steps.
