Contribute help system

Contribute uses a two-level approach to helping content providers. The program features both the standard internal help system as well as a panel in the user interface that helps with the most common questions the non-technical user might ask. This is called the sidebar.

Contribute's sidebar offers common help topics

The sidebar features a set of common help topics with questions arranged by category: getting started, adding a page to my website, etc. Clicking any "how do I..." question accesses easy, step-by-step instructions. The sidebar is context sensitive as well, so content providers will see more questions while they are editing a page and fewer questions when they are first creating a connection to the site.

Site administrators can also customize the "How Do I..." panel by following the instructions on this Technical Note from Adobe.

Contribute also has the excellent internal search features that are standard on all Macromedia programs. The contents are categorized, indexed, searchable, and you can also set bookmarks in the help section.
